Happy birthday to Ethan!
Some of his favorite things:
Sports—especially baseball and soccer
Breakfast
Computer and video games
Second breakfast
Reading
Playing with the twenty million boys in our neighborhood
Riding his scooter
Waking up before 6:00 am
Laughing!
Two weeks of digging sprinkler trenches…
Six hours(!) of wheel barrowing dirt from the street into the backyard…
Five hours of laying down sod…
Ten minutes of mowing…
Three kids playing outside…worth every minute!
Another scout competition to see which dad has more spare time. Ethan’s shark rocket won first in his den, second overall, and best design.
It really is more of a snack grab. The kids are split into age groups and run out onto the baseball field. After 8 years, we figured out buckets are the best receptacles!
The haul included chips, cookies, candy,a parachute guy and an eye patch?
So proud of Katie. She was selected to be student of the month by her English teacher. Same speeches, same t-shirts, same hotdogs!
Me: “Hey, I get to help in your class today!”
Adam: “Do you have to?”
Me: “I told your teacher I would and she needs the help. Why?”
Adam: “It might be embarrassing.”
Me: “Why?”
Adam: “It just think it will be.”
Me: “I’ll do my best to not talk to you.”
Adam: “Okay. Do you have to wear those clothes?”
He is seven…. and for the record, I usually change out of my pajamas before I leave the house!
I am happy to announce the end of the fall soccer season! We started in August at 105 degrees and ended in December at 45 degrees.
Adam’s team, The Fireballs, did great. They won every game except two that ended with a tie.
Ethan’s team, The Lightning Bolts, had a lot of heart! They did make it to the playoffs and won 4th place.
The most entertaining part of the season was Paul as a line ref. Paul literally took one for the team and wore short shorts to earn points so the team could play in the playoffs. At least he has the legs for it!
