Soccer

I am happy to announce the end of the fall soccer season!  We started in August at 105 degrees and ended in December at 45 degrees.

Adam’s team, The Fireballs, did great.  They won every game except two that ended with a tie.

Ethan’s team, The Lightning Bolts, had a lot of heart!  They did make it to the playoffs and won 4th place.

The most entertaining part of the season was Paul as a line ref.  Paul literally took one for the team and wore short shorts to earn points so the team could play in the playoffs.  At least he has the legs for it!

We snuck in a couple days after Halloween before all the decorations were gone.

Katie dressed up as a Sea World Trainer for school and the Halloween Dance.

 

 

 

The entire elementary school did the Monster Mash.  It was so cute!

 

 

 

Ethan was Malfoy from Harry Potter.  Adam was Jango Fett from Star Wars.  Katie decided it was too cold, so she wore her PJ’s and robe and was a ‘bed head.’

Pinewood Derby

The competition is intense, he researches what design will be the fastest, he stays up late working on it, he just wants his car to be faster than his friend’s —and that is just the dad!  Yes, it was the Cub Scout Pinewood Derby.

We started off great, Ethan’s is on the far right…

Two hours later, everyone was tired…

But it was worth it!

Fall Festival

The elementary school had their fall festival last week.  Ethan sang with the choir…

 

Adam was super excited about the cupcake walk—to the tune of four cupcakes…

Katie thought she was too old to go—until she heard that they were giving away goldfish as prizes…

Twenty dollars worth of game tickets later we had 2 goldfish.  We had to stop at the store on the way home to buy a fish for the third unlucky child that kept winning candy, where we bought a fish for 28 cents!!!

In honor of Halloween we have Jack, Sally, and Zero.  At least these new members of our family are quiet!

This was a canal tour in Bruges, Belgium.  It was such a fun day.  We ate pommes frites in the square, sampled Belgian chocolates on every corner, and ate the most amazing Belgian waffles.  I want to go back!

Girl’s Weekend!

Such a great weekend.  I feel relaxed, recharged, and refreshed.  I just wish I would have remembered my camera!

Student of the Month

Katie was one of about 30 kids chosen Student of the Month in September.  She was nominated by her reading teacher for her “outstanding work and class participation”  and because she is “a positive role model and a pleasure to have in class.”  It was quite the big deal.  We were treated to a delicious hotdog lunch in the library to celebrate!

Summer Vacation!

A week at Newport Beach with family.   Disneyland, Angels game, and relaxing on the beach.  We had so much fun!
